PROPERTY OWNERS MAY GET RELIEF FROM TANGIPAHOA ASSESSOR
“There are a significant number of property owners who are in the recovery mode as a result of the recent flooding. The Assessor’s Office may be able to provide some assistance during this time.
There is the possibility of having your property values reduced for one year if your property sustained damage. This may give some financial relief to Tangipahoa Parish residents on their upcoming property tax bill. (December, 2016)
In order to start the process, property owners must visit the Hammond or Amite office and bring photographic evidence of the damage to their property.”
The Tangipahoa Parish Assessor’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Tangipahoa Parish Assessment District will be held at its regular meeting place at the Tangipahoa Parish Assessor's Office located at 15475 Club Deluxe Rd., Hammond, LA 70403 on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward rates not to exceed the prior year's maximum.
